Caulfield Park Community School is a government school for young people excluded from mainstream education. It is a place where they are secure, safe and supported. Even though the school still operates in demountable buildings, there is a great feeling of belonging.
Igniting Change recently took the team from CTM (Corporate Travel Management) to visit the school resulting in the inspiration for the Eight Hour Bike Race project. CTM's Andy Kendrick worked with motor bike enthusiasts at the school and a small team of professionals to get a
bike ready for the Eight Hour Race on Phillip Island in early Decmember. The kids were involved in hands-on tasks from design and painting to mechanical work and, ultimately, as pit crew.
"The kids have responded fantastically and opened a whole new world for me too."
